Awhile back I started using an awesome program to manage my business income and expenditures. It is called Internet Tax Helper Pro and it is designed specifically for Internet Marketers!

Let me just give you some insight into how easy it is to use. When you first purchase the software you set it up to have all the fields you need. It took about 5 minutes for me to get it all set up. Now whenever I have some data to input I go to transactions and I enter 5 feilds: Date, Payment Type (ie check, credit card, etc.), Category, Description, and Amount.

By default the categories are set up to be perfect for Internet and affiliate marketers with categories for affiliate commissions, product sales, site advertisements, joint ventures, ezine ad revenue and so forth. I went a step beyond that and set up categories for all the specific affiliate programs I get commissions from…Google, Amazon, Shareasale, Text Link Ads, Auction Ads, Review Me, Mom Masterminds, etc. Then in the description for each of the transactions I identify what month or pay period these commssions are for.

The expenditures pretty much work the same way. There are default categories for affiliate payments, bank fees, Internet fees, merchant account fees, etc. I added some of my own of course like PayPal fees, hosting fees, and script purchases and upgrades. The ways in which you can tailor this program to your exact needs are endless. The only thing I have wanted to do but couldn’t figure out was how to add PayPal and PayPal subscription as payment methods. Perhaps I should email support to figure out how to do this. You can set the felds up any way you would like for virtually any type of business!

You can do searches to find specific transactions and you can view your income by the quarter or by the month and view your YTD income as well. I also like the fact that the data entry system feels very much like an Access database form which I am very comfortable and familiar with. Another bonus for many is that it really helps iron out your finances for tax purposes with many fields to keep track of tax stuff. This was not my motivation in buying it since I have an accountant to wade through all that. I wanted to see in detail all the money that was coming and from where and where it was going. I have been beyond thrilled with this program.
