I learned this lesson a couple of years ago – not because I was smacked but because a few other online friends were.

I do a lot of free reports and that helps. I can see a nice stream of traffic from those. They get others linking to me and spreading the word amongst friends too.

Affiliates are my good friends too! My affiliates make more sales of my products that I do.

And yeah all the other stuff you mentioned is great too.

I feel your pain. It seems that we both are suffering from the same problem, 'Search Engine-itis.' It really stinks when we become accustomed to the flow of traffic and it stops.
